East Kentwood High School Senior, Samantha Impens is most passionate about art, drawing and design. She grew to love it because she has been drawing and creating things since she was little and learned to get better and better as time went on. In her free time you’ll most likely find her doing just this.

Although she has dreamt of becoming a fashion designer since she was little, she plans to pursue nursing. Her plans are to attend Grand Rapids Community College after high school and then transfer to a university shortly after.

Sam I wish you the best with your last year in high school!

The Rose Family

Today I’m welcoming back the Rose Family, Rob, Courtney, Sophia and Sawyer.

MoodboardMoodboard2

The two of us dreamt of what it would be like to have a family. In fact we practiced many times with her American Girl Dolls when we were at the ripe age of 7 years old. Courtney and I have been friends for as long as we can remember. Many times I look at her daughter Sophia and I brings me right back to those days when the two of us were in Sunday school in our little laced dresses chatting away. This family has been having me take their photos since Sophia was born. I love seeing these kiddos grow and remembering  what they were like for each stage. This year was especially fun because we were all relaxed and had time to enjoy one another’s company. Little Sawyer is celebrating his 4th birthday and if it’s even possible has become more and more cute as the years go on. When asking him who was his favorite he listed off some of my favorite people as well. Papa Lyons, Papa Biondo, Noni, etc. These specific individuals have been a huge part of who I am today and I hope they are able to treasure these moments even more than I do.

Sophia Zolnierek : Senior

“Be all you can be, you are the best you you can be!” -Sophia Zolnierek

Sophia Zolnierek is a Senior at Grandville High School. She is passionate about faith and about being creative! She is in the process of choosing a college but is thinking either Michigan State or Grand Valley State. When she was a kid she dreamt of being a dentist but for now she is still exploring what she’d love to do long term. You may find it interested that this girl loves coconut, pumpkin and coffee (hopefully not all at once).

If I went back to high school (Which I graduated from Grandville!) I’m pretty sure Sophia and I would be the best of friends. This girl is the sweetest and we had so much fun as we walked around the beautiful Millennium Park Meadows and Downtown Grand Rapids.

Sophia I wish you the best year yet and I pray you change the world with your beautiful personality and creativity!

Summer Bucket List : 2017

The start of a new season gets me excited. I’m most excited for summer. This will be my first summer where I get to explore and spend as much time with my kids as possible. I could not wait to plan out some of the things we’ll be doing. If your kids are anything like mine, all they want to do is stay inside and play on devices. Well this is going to change. I remember as a kid spending so much time outside that the rule was to be home by dark. Well, Today I’m sharing with you our family’s summer bucket list. DeBlaay Family

blogcollage

I met Lindsey and her husband Matt when her and I were both pregnant with our girls and teaching preschool. Needless to say we have been great friends ever since. Not only friends but I’ve come to know her extended family and they remind me a lot of my own. Meet the DeBlaays, Mary (also known as Beppe to her grandkids), her sons Chris, Jake, Matt and Mike and their families. I think it’s fair to say that Mary has quite the beautiful family. During this session we continuously laughed, danced and said the magic word *FART* over and over to make those kiddos giggle and bring out their natural smiles (well, mostly the dads). Would you believe me if I told you that prior to this session it was 60 degrees and raining? We lucked out with beautiful mid day sunshine and a little bit of shade at Aquinas college. If you’d like to check out more from this session you can do so at Kara Hanes Photography
